darkforcerising: (AU I don't believe that)

Anakin was stunned silent for a moment, but he realized he shouldn’t be surprised. It’s not like he didn’t remember the Jedi and what they were like to deal with. And his life on Earth was full of people asking him what was wrong with him for the very reason his twin was saying it now, if in a roundabout way. Because of that he’d long practiced what to say to people who said those things to him.

“Okay, first, there is not and never was anything wrong with you. What’s wrong is a room full of grown-ass adults telling a practically orphaned child he’s evil because of his compassion for a women trapped in abject abuse and poverty. Their fucking priorities are what’s wrong and they’d rather cater to their own hypocritical fears than do what’s right. Fuck, who tells s child they’re evil?

“Second, being neuro-atypical means a person is different, not that something is inherently wrong with them. I’ve got a brain that needs help regulating the activity of its neurosynapses. I know what that help is, and I use it. I’ve got a missing arm, that doesn’t mean anything is wrong with me with or without this prosthetic. I mean, the meds I take and the devices I use to help my brain are prosthetics.

“And third, we don’t even know if you have it. I had a father on Earth so maybe this is a neurological difference is because of that. I don’t know. But if you did have it, it doesn’t mean anything is wrong with you.”
